show off your pom-poms.

martha's got pom-poms and she isn't afraid to show 'em off!

this isn't anything new or shocking but i noticed martha pushing her pom-poms in various shades of the rainbow and i'm not saying you shouldn't buy her pom-pom kit for $19.99+s/h. but really you shouldn't. these suckers are super easy to make and are a budget friendly way to decorate. looks like this is now becoming the unofficial party on a budget week...

a run to the dollar store, a couple bags of tissue paper and you're set. directions talk about wrapping some floral tape in the center but i'm going to share a ghetto-fabulous secret with you. i wrapped a rubberband around the center of mine and no one got hurt. you may remember my pom-pom centerpiece...

here is another idea for an easier centerpiece. this is just a gift bag with matching tissue paper plopped on top.

if you try this anytime soon i'd love to see what one pom-pom with two different colored papers turns out like.
cheers!

I agree, making them is the way to go!! I made 35 of them for a shower a few months ago...that would have cost a fortune thru Martha!!

You mean Martha didn't invent them? I think I learned how to make them in like, kindergarten! Man, that lady is good at marketing!

Inexpensive or not, I still love 'em!

P.S.- I use grocery store twist ties for small ones! And, you can put two together to make a really full pom.
